It’s getting chillier every single day as the winds of change are blowing.

Thankfully, there are terrific businesses that are doing good for our planet and offering warm clothing with amazing recycled fabrics,  terrific design and a greater social conscience.  A true win-win for our planet.

Below are some cold weather finds to help you transition into the new chilly season.

1- The Wuxly Eka Puffer

I really love the look of Wuxly’s Eka puffer. It looks so cozy and comfy, it almost makes me want to love winter….

The best part?

  • The recycled shell and lining are made from 20 plastic bottles
  • It contains animal-free insulation.
  • The outer Shell is made from 100% Recycled Polyester
  • The Lining is made from 100% Recycled Nylon

The perfect coat for the colder months ahead and to help our gorgeous planet.

2- A Royal-Looking Wool Sweater from Everlane

Okay, the rich colors of this beautiful wool sweater from Everlane have me swooning….

Their merino turtleneck features a warm blend of certified sheep wool and yak wool and here’s a fun fact:
their partner mill in Tibet works with 60 local co-ops to source their yak wool.  30% of the profits from their yak program goes back to the farmers in the area to fund education, gender-equality initiatives, healthcare, and everyday essentials. Yak are also gentle grazers, leaving grass roots embedded in the soil, which helps ensure the continuation of vegetation growth. For all animal their fibers, Everlane takes extra precautions to ensure humane treatment.

And for this they get my seal of approval!

3-The Market Pant from The Ecologyst

I’m not sure if this garment qualifies as a “cold weather” find,  but these pants from the Ecologyst are right up my alley!  They’re made in Victoria BC from organic cotton.   Fun fact: the company offers repairs for life, something that is definitely noteworthy.   Unlike fast fashion companies, the Ecologyst’s team commits to longevity and takes responsibility for the clothing they make so they will repair broken zippers, etc.

According to an image on their Instagram page, three in five new garments produced in the world are thrown away within a year of purchase and the Ecologyst  wants to work toward changing this because they firmly believe in keeping items in circulation for as long as possible.

“By repairing a piece rather than replacing it too soon, we continue to value and honor the natural ressources, materials and efforts that went into making it.”   Now that is definitely music to our ears.

4-Estelle Jacket from Message Factory

I really like the look of this sweet cotton and recycled wool jacket from Message Factory.  Made in Quebec, their Estelle jacket has a brushed gray interior and is ideal to wear for your outings over your favorite sweaters or under your coat.  Their recycled wool comes from recovered woolens, shredded and re-threaded to make a new fabric. Recovering waste reduces the impact on climate change and we are ALL ABOUT THAT.

5- Organic Cotton Safari Jacket from Pact

I absolutely love this safari jacket from Pact.   Isn’t it wonderful?

It’s made from organic cotton in fair trade certified factories. It’s worth noting that certified organic cotton consumes very little water compared to conventional cotton.  As they don’t use harmful inorganic pesticides and fertilizers, there is little to no water pollution, so you conserve water every time you choose organic.

  • It contains animal-free insulation.
  • The outer Shell is made from 100% Recycled Polyester
  • The Lining is made from 100% Recycled Nylon

The perfect coat for the colder months ahead and to help our gorgeous planet.
